ONS Door Decorating Contest
Wadeñ nwa' aweñha
December 1, 2011

Onondaga Nation - The ONS Student Leadership Group , a student led organization, sponsored a door decorating contest at ONS. The theme of the contest was harvest. All students and staff were encouraged to participate, in an effort to decorate the school in preparation for Harvest Dinner.

There were four different categories: best overall door, funniest door, most creative door, and best theme door. The 2nd grade won for best overall door, with a bright and colorful harvest scene. 7th and 8th grade tied for the best theme. The 7th grade door showed sillouettes of people harvesting and real autumn leaves. The 8th grade door displayed a fall tree with colored leaves, apples, and a squirrel containing students’ pictures, along with corn, beans, and squash underneath. The main office won for funniest door, with their Thankful Trio of turkeys. Nurse Kerry won for most creative door, because her door was decorated with a turkey made solely using medical supplies.

All of the doors turned out great, and a fun time was had by all.
