Onondaga Nation - The Onondaga Nation School collected hard plastic caps in their classrooms to recycle through Aveda for the past 3 weeks. The Community of Caring proposed to the school that we show how much the school cares about recycling by recycling hard plastic caps.   The winning classroom would earn a pizza party.

The school responded in a HUGE way.

In the end, the Sixth Grade and Kindergarten classes tied for the most. Each class collected 4 full blue bins for of hard plastic caps. Both classes earned a Pizza Party. Since the entire school collected so many caps (approximately 200 lbs. of caps totaling over 20,000 caps so far), we had an Ice Cream Social at lunch on Thursday, March 31st  for all classes to celebrate.

We will continue to collect caps, so feel free to send them in to school. There is a caps recycling box in our vestibule for anyone to add to.
