LaFayette voters approve $17.2 Million Capital Project
 

On October 30, 2024 , LaFayette Central School District voters approved the district’s $17.2 million capital project referendum. 

# Votes in Favor: 71

# Votes Opposed: 10
 

The projected cost for the project totals $17.2 million, but is expected to have no local tax impact. 

The goals for this capital project are :

• To improve air quality and add air conditioning

• Upgrade the kindergarten classrooms

• Expand Big Picture project-based learning

• Improve the Jr/Sr High School athletic spaces

• Upgrades to key building and site infrastructure to ensure accessibility, health and safety

The Board of Education and Administration thank the community for their continued support of our students and the commitment to maintaining our school facilities.

Grimshaw Elementary School: 

• Kindergarten Classroom Upgrades: Toilet Rooms and Select Finishes

• 1st Floor Corridor Improvements

• Air Quality Improvements/Air Condition 1st Floor Classrooms

• 2nd Floor Locker Replacements

• BOCES Toilet Room Renovation

• 2nd-6th Grade Playground ADA Improvements

• Masonry & Concrete Sill Restoration/Repair

• Fire Alarm Replacement

• Boiler Replacement

 

Junior/Senior High School and Big Picture School: 

 

• Big Picture School: Additional Classroom Space, Corridor Addition, and Culinary Renovation

• Air Quality Improvements/Air Conditioning: 1st Floor Classrooms and Auxiliary Gym

• Stadium Upgrades: Field and Site Lighting, Bleachers, Press Box, Access Road with ADA Parking, and Track Infill with Grass

• Locker Room - Minor Renovations

• Auxiliary Gym Wrestling Mat Storage

• Entry Canopy Plaster Repair

• Select Sidewalk Replacement

• Wastewater Treatment Upgrades

• Replace Door Monitoring Systems

• Digital Controls Upgrades

• Fire Alarm Upgrades
