Class Visitors

April 2011

Onondaga Nation-Our 5 grade class at ONS had some visitors. The visitors were annols, frogs and tadpoles. They came in January 2011. We were able to do this because we were studying habitats.

Our frog looked green and it looked slimy. When we first got it, it was in a box with moss. When we were putting it in the container it wouldn’t come out. So we shook the box and it jumped at our teacher! It lived in a cave like house made out of moss that the frog made by itself. We fed him a cricket a day.

Our annols looked like small lizards. They could change colors too. But they could only change to green and brown. When we weren’t looking they would climb to the top of their cage. We fed them a cricket a day just like the frog. Our teacher took a picture of one of the annols eating a cricket.

Our tadpoles were big when we got them. We had to feed them special food. But our tadpoles weren't eating when we fed them. The cool thing about them was that their skin was almost see-through. But the sad thing was that after like a week, our tadpoles died.

My favorite part was when the annols ate the cricket. I hope we get more visitors soon because it is fun taking care of things.
