Also, 96 students and staff were tested for COVID today at Grimshaw Elementary, LaFayette Jr/Sr High, and LaFayette Big Picture School. There were no positives. Great job Lancers!

  • Monday 2/22/2021 - Grimshaw Elementary 8:30-10:30AM
  • Monday 2/22/2021- LaFayette Jr/Sr High and Big Picture School - 11:00AM-12:30PM Our amazing school nurses will be administering the COVID test to our students!   • Change in Face Covering Policy 2/22/21 Change in Face Covering Policy 2/22/21: February 11, 2021   Dear Staff Members and Families:   Effective Monday February 22, 2021, the LaFayette Central School District will require all students and staff to wear a face covering at all times. Mask breaks will be provided in accordance with state guidelines. The purpose for this change is to increase mitigation measures and minimize the number of students and staff placed into quarantine when positive cases occur.    Onondaga County published updated “Quarantine Guidelines for All Onondaga County Schools” on February 6, 2021.     Update on Lead in Water Testing 2/8/21 Update on Lead in Water Testing 2/8/21: February 8, 2021   Dear Families:   I am writing as a follow-up to our previous correspondence dated December 14, 2021 - click here . As required by the NYS Health Department, and in conjunction with the Onondaga County Health Department and OCM BOCES Health & Safety Office, the district is required to conduct lead water sampling from outlets within the schools every five years. In this study, water samples found to have the presence of lead with 15 parts per billion are identified. Previously, we reported that four fixtures had readings above 15 ppb after initial testing, which included three fixtures at Grimshaw school and one at LaFayette Jr./Sr. High School.     Update on Athletics January 31, 2021 Update on Athletics January 31, 2021: Dear Families: Our Board of Education will hold a special meeting tomorrow afternoon, Monday February 1, 2021 at 1:30 PM to consider a resolution authorizing participation in athletics including high risk sports of basketball, wrestling, ice hockey, volleyball, football and lacrosse. NYS has previously authorized softball and baseball to be played in accordance with safety regulations.   • Two students at the Jr/Sr High recently tested positive for COVID-19. Based on the dates that the individuals tested positive and since the school switched last week to remote learning, there were no close school contacts identified as a result of these two cases.
