COVID Surveillance Testing COVID Surveillance Testing: COVID Surveillance Testing   September 7, 2021   Dear Families and Staff Members: LaFayette Central School District will be partnering with the Onondaga County Health Department to conduct COVID testing in our schools, beginning on Tuesday September 14th. All schools will conduct surveillance testing every week on Tuesday for randomized groups of students and staff who have provided consent for testing. All testing is voluntary and requires consent.

    Reopening  Plan 2021-2022 School Year Reopening Plan 2021-2022 School Year: Dear LaFayette Central School District:   We are excited to share with you our reopening plan for the 2021-2022 school year .     Clothing and School Supply Giveaway on Aug. 21 Clothing and School Supply Giveaway on Aug. 21: The LaFayette Alliance Church will be holding a giveaway for clothing and school supplies this Saturday, Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. This giveaway will be open to the public. The LaFayette Alliance Church is located at 6069 US RT 20, LaFayette, NY 13084.

    Summer Meals - Sign Up Now Summer Meals - Sign Up Now: July 1, 2021   Dear Families:   Our hard working Food Service department is gearing up for our summer food service program. Recently, the federal government extended the eligibility for meals at no cost to all children in our school district through June 30, 2022.    LaFayette has been providing breakfast and a hot lunch to families, along with a meal delivery service to families, since the start of the pandemic in March 2020. Thank you to Mr. Rob Kennedy and our outstanding Food Service department and Transportation department for going above and beyond for our school community.   Meals are free for everyone 18 and under, regardless of income.     Highlights from the 2021 Prom Highlights from the 2021 Prom: The LaFayette Central School District's juniors and seniors recently attended their 2021 Prom, with the theme of "Paris: City of Lights!"     Change in Outdoor Face Mask Policy from NYSDOH Change in Outdoor Face Mask Policy from NYSDOH: June 10, 2021   Dear Families and Staff Members:   Recently, Governor Cuomo announced that school districts no longer need to require that face coverings be worn for outdoor activities. Here is a link to the updated NYSDOH guidance - click here .    As we experience warmer temperatures and given the reduced number of COVID cases in the surrounding community, LaFayette CSD will no longer require face coverings for outdoor activities. Students and staff can still wear face coverings for outdoor activities, if they choose to do so.     Potential Changes to Face Mask Policy 6/6/2021 Potential Changes to Face Mask Policy 6/6/2021: Potential Changes to Face Mask Requirements June 6, 2021   Dear Families and Staff Members:   On Friday June 4, 2021, New York State Department of Health Commissioner, Dr. Howard Zucker, wrote a letter informing the CDC that New York State is considering revising face mask requirements for public schools.     Public Hearing - American Rescue Plan Public Hearing - American Rescue Plan: The Board of Education of the LaFayette Central School District will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. at the LaFayette Big Picture School, Big Picture Commons - 3122 US RT 11, LaFayette, NY 13084.  The purpose of the hearing will be to receive public comments on the district’s planned use of federal funds through the American Rescue Plan. Speakers are asked to limit any public comments to no more than three minutes each following the public presentation.   The public is also invited to communicate comments in writing by addressing them to the Board of Education at 5955 US Route 20, LaFayette, NY 13084.   A copy of the proposed funding plan is available by clicking here . 
    LCSD Senior Parade Planned for June 22 LCSD Senior Parade Planned for June 22: The LaFayette Athletic Booster Club is currently planning a hometown salute parade honoring LaFayette’s Senior Class of 2021 on Tuesday June 22, beginning at 6 p.m. and originating at the Onondaga Nation Arena. A tentative rain date is set for June 24. The parade will be open to all LCSD seniors.  The parade will start at the Nation Arena, and the club is asking that seniors (and their drivers) meet there and begin to line up their vehicles behind the Onondaga Nation fire truck at 5:40 p.m.  The planned route from there:
  • Take a right out of the arena onto Route 11, and then a left onto route 11a
  • Head down the nation main road (11a) all the way to take a right onto Tully Farms Road

    Pfizer COVID Vaccine Clinic Ages 12+ Tue 5/25 Pfizer COVID Vaccine Clinic Ages 12+ Tue 5/25: May 19, 2021 Dear Families and Staff Members: The LaFayette Central School District is partnering with Onondaga County to offer an on-site vaccination clinic on Tuesday May 25, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM at LaFayette CSD Junior & High School. This clinic will also include students from the Tully, Fabius-Pompey, and Onondaga Central School Districts. Students from other districts participating in the clinic will be bussed to LaFayette CSD by their home district.     Budget Results and BOE Election Results Budget Results and BOE Election Results: May 18, 2021 - For Immediate Release   LaFayette voters approve $20.6 million budget, elect board members   On May 18th, LaFayette Central School District voters approved the district’s $20.6 million 2021-2022 budget proposal, elected three board of education members and approved purchasing two new student transportation vehicles and one new lawn mower with attachments. Voters approved:  
  • An $20,631,885 budget for the 2021-2022 school year that increases spending 1.51 percent and carries a 2.2 percent tax levy increase: 213 yes, 40 no;
