Lyle Thompson - 2011 All American
May 26, 2011

LaFayette Senior Lyle Thompson has been selected to the 2011 All American team.  Lyle led all of Section III with the most goals scored with 65 despite opponents designing defenses to stop the creative midfielder.

Not only did Lyle take the majority of the faceoffs, he often used the opportunity to create face break chances of his own.

Lyle being only 1 of the 2 seniors on this year's squad also took the underclassmen under his wing as he shared his knowledge and love of the game with them.

Coach Riese spoke of Lyle's 2011 season, "From day one Lyle set the tone for our underclassmen.  He was able to perform at a high level while being another coach on the field.  He showed great leadership."

Lyle's parents, Jerome and Delores Thompson, also have the distinct honor of having all 4 of their sons be selected as LaFayette High School All-Americans; Jeremy and Jerome in 2006, Miles in 2009, and now Lyle in 2011.  Congradulations!
